The Swedish island Oland, the island of sun and wind, is located in the Baltic Sea just off the coast of mainland Sweden. The nature and landscapes of Oland is unique with a special light and a wide range of different nature types such as beaches, forests, coastal meadows and alvar (great plain areas). This makes Oland different from other parts of Sweden and makes it to a paradise for all kind of tourists. Southern Oland is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and there is a lot of nature reserves all over the island. Oland is connected with mainland Sweden by Olandsbron (Oland bridge), one of the longest bridges in Europe.
